It isn't often that you have the opportunity to study with an individual that is dedicated and knowledgeable in the Western Mystery Tradition. Such a person is Greg Wotton. Our Fraters and Sorors in Canada have enjoyed his wisdom and guidance for years and now he will be active in a wider role . He comes to you with my highest recommendation as a representative of our Organization in Canada. I look forward to great things from his association with our students there as he teaches through the media of the internet.
Greg Wotton has been a thoughtful and dedicated student of the Western Mystery Tradition for all of his adult life. With his extraordinary breadth of knowledge and genuinely caring heart, he has long served the Fraternity of the Hidden Light as a wise and compassionate way-shower for our probationary members. His kindly guiding presence in our probationers’ Yahoo! Group is the backbone of our Fraternity's efforts to bring earnest seekers to the Light, with their welfare and safety uppermost in mind. Greg's devotion to the Path of Service is noteworthy. His vast knowledge and experience, as well as his wonderful communication skills, make him a most valuable member and friend to the Fraternity of the Hidden Light.
Greg has worked in the Western Mystery Tradition and devoted much of his time to the study of religions and cultures. He has the gift of words and uses them in ways to convey difficult subject matters such as high ideas of spiritual concepts. With this gift he brings the complexity to the everyday layperson which helps them on the journey in the great work of making the connection with both the Masculine and Feminine aspects of Deity.
It was a chance encounter on an internet message board that led me to Greg. I have never met him in person (he lives in Canada) but in a few short moments he managed to completely change my life. As always, he appeared just when I needed guidance. I don't think he knows how much I needed him at the time, or just what he has done for me. He taught me to question. To question others, and more importantly, to question myself. It may seem as if this is something that I wouldn't need to be taught. But most people didn't realize that at the time, it was something I was really struggling with. Without even realizing it, he picked me up and set me back on my feet, so to speak. I only wish I could do the same for him.
Greg is a teacher dedicated to his students and their advancement on the Path, being there for us 24/7. As a teacher he is full of loving patience and tolerance, encouraging students’ (my own) ‘baby-steps’ on the path. Having him there as an enormous support and encouragement is invaluably precious thing for me. I feel that the process of transformation of my personality, which was initially started with the Threshold lessons and practical exercises, is reinforced and augmented by the coaching by and interactions with Greg. His artistic personality and his writings (prose and poetry) as well act as a huge inspiration for my inner growth process. Probably without even having conscious intention, in an empathetic and friendly way, Greg has challenged (and still does challenge) some of the conceptions I have held ever since I knew of myself-conceptions and ideas, which at this point show to be outworn and seek to be replaced with new and more mature ones. He acts as a strong catalyst in this long-term and sometimes a bit painful process of mine.
